Does the show Fringe have a continuing story line or does it have lots of different episodes with a small story line?

An example of the continuing story line is LOST and an example of the one with a small story line but you could miss an episode and it wouldn't matter would be Supernatural. Which is the TV show fringe more like?

Yes. Especially season 3. Season 1 not so much, but the show really starts to get good with the big alt-world storyline in season 2 and season 3 probably doesn't even make sense if you're not watching previous eps. Walternet, Altvia. I'm loving it.

It definitely has a continuing story line...

First, there are 2 universes that are almost the same, but have slight differences (Parallel universes). About 25 or so years ago, Joshua Jackson's character Peter died in this universe, His father. Walter, along with his colleague played by Leonard Nimoy, found a portal to the other world and Walter went over and kidnapped the Peter from there, brought him here and raised him as his own. Jump to present day...the Walter on the other side is the Secretary of Defense, know what happened to his son (the othe side has the Peter Bishop Kidnapping Act of 19-- because of it) and there is a "war" going on between the 2 universes.

If you liked LOST, you'll definitely like Fringe, you just have to catch up. It's like a combo of LOST and the X-Files.

The show has standalone cases per episode, but there is a main story arc throughout the season. Fringe is more like Lost wherein it would be important to watch all the episodes because there would be information on the continuing story line in most episodes.
