Were you as let down by the Smallville Series Finale as I was?

Question

1. Tom Welling did not even wear the damn suit, it was CGI crap, they only showed him from a distance.
2. The Fight with Darkseid lasted only 2 seconds, he flew into Lionel and smashed him in half...

Superman and Darkseid have had much better fights and longer lasting
What is Tom Welling's problem with the suit? What he doesn't want to be "type cast" will it ruin his massive movie (Cheaper by the dozen 1 and 2) career?
No one WANTS to be type cast, but MAN, this is SUPERMAN!!!!! If he had worn the damn suit, he coulda landed a movie role as Superman.
Sorry, but I was very let down by the series finale and Tom Welling you suck for not giving the fans what they wanted....

Does anyone remember earlier in the series where Jor El tells Clark about being a hero and Clark says there are other hero's, and Jor El says "YOU WERE MEANT TO BE THEIR GREATEST HERO!!!"
This is the same advice Tom should have taken from HIS FANS, Yes Tom there are OTHER actors, but you WERE MEANT TO PLAY OUR GREATEST HERO!!! You let us down!!!

You know I really tried to hang in there with this show - even after all of my friends bailed. 10 years even through the horrible teen angst-ridden Lana in the barn endings I still thought in the end it will be worth it. I can see the point of all those people who say - "for a t.v. show they did their best with all the restrictions." For the most part I can agree with that; in fact I think its the writers who made these last couple seasons what they were. I can take writing blunders, gaps and mistakes. I just can't take arrogance. Tom Welling is the personification of arrogance. It WAS his decision not to wear the suit. My law firm deals with copyright law and trust me from the usage of the suit as it was HE COULD have worn it without problem. Unfortunately Welling like most actors out there is arrogant and self-important. He never intended to wear the suit fearing his career would be hurt by it. You know because he's landed soooo many stellar parts so far.....but I digress. No problem at all collecting the paychecks from the show but a big problem actually playing the part he signed on for.

He let everyone down - the fans most of all. What's worse is that I still like the show. Rosenbaum's Lex was epic - he outshined Welling in every way. So many of the other actors were also amazing. It's just sad the show had to be helmed by someone like Welling who was just along for the ride with no real intention to ever truly play his part. Not only will I not buy the full series as I hoped to before the finale I am done with Welling in any future roles - not gonna support someone who had no problem screwing over his fan base in the past. The Finale minus Welling's ego was a great effort to tie up 10 years - the show matured and became something in the end to have pride in. It's lead however didn't mature - so worried about what the rest of the world aside from the fans would think. That's not in any way, shape or form the Superman I was hoping for. That's just another pretty boy actor with another epic fail to add to his resume of denial. I hope at some point someone worthy actually brings back Superman in all his glory. Someone with the actual heart to pull of the role....not just collect a paycheck for the name.

To recap - 1) no legal issue 10 years copyright law experience talking here. 2) No Warner Brothers blocks - Smallville had complete freedom to use whatever they wanted even with the new movie 3) budget had nothing to do with a 20 sec shot of a man in a suit and 4) Tom Welling = epic fail as Clark Kent and Superman - sorry I was in your corner for 10 years boy did you let everyone down.

Now comes the part where everyone Welling's fooled tells me I'm wrong - your welcome to your opinion - you have your version I have the truth.

I agree with "Joorhi", I skipped the last five episodes, couldn't download them right to the finale and see how to put my wasted 10 years to bed, and I was crapped on. If you are right, the finale had so much lacking in it.. If lex had the guts to come back and complete his role, WHY THE **** COULDN'T CLARK DO BETTER?? In the end, Tom Welling disappointed us, and wasted our time. I should have known. I watched all the idiot episodes, hang out to many stupid ones, hoping in the end... they'd do better. When Lex couldn't come back, I thought he had betrayed the fans, but Tom screwed "some" of us in the *** and betrayed us too. Good luck Tom, I know some guys liked it. I didn't. Still like you though.

1) The show did NOT have permission from DC comics (they are the owners of the suit and image).. to wear the suit. Hence the lack of him in the suit.. They would have gotten sued.



2) Agreed.. but the finale wasn't really focused on the fight.. it was more focused on him evolving into the superman he was meant to be.



Tom Welling... wanted to stop filming the show and he denied the role of superman (movie)...
