They want to get someone new to play "Magnum PI" in the motion picture, but I believe they should let Tom Selleck star as "Magnum PI" in the proposed motion picture.

Why not. He was the lead character for many years.

Some things just shouldn't be changed at all. I'm old enough to remember when the Coca-Cola company tried to replace their "original" with "New Coke". It caused such an uproar that they had to bring back the original, now called "Classic".
Anyway, Tom Selleck IS Magnum. He's still got what it takes. There's no hot, young actor out there who could replace the one, the original, the classic Tom Selleck as Magnum, P.I.

The actor for the part being hottest is irrelevant, Selleck still has the mojo to play magnum...the movie can just be set up years maybe where magnum inherits some of Robin Master's money, along with Higgins or was that Masters

maybe he could do a cameo, like Magnum's dad or something. I mean I love Selleck, but with all of the "up and coming" hotter actors, I just don't think he can be as marketable anymore. But he is always going to be a classic actor.

There will only be one Magnum PI - that's Tom.

Only if the PI stands for Past It. Ha ha ha!!
Good that on!
If it's good, perhaps he could have a son or daughter and ir leads to a tv spin off. Lacks originality, but, you know...
Always thought of Magnum as a sunnier version of Bergerac.

He's gotten a bit old for that particular role...
