I watched the episode and have a few questions because I wasn't paying attention too well. In the future Jin is not married to his wife? Is that his baby? Who are the 6 survivors? Did the reason why the girl on the boat jump off get explained? It also seemed that the captain was nice to the boys, why? What was Hurley doing in the episode?

The more detail the better. I don't care if you write a novel explaining b/c I'm very confused. If you add anything else that I haven't mentioned above that's good too!

The plot has four separate storylines. One focuses on married Sun and Jin Kwon on the island, as they debate on whether to defect to the rival faction of survivors led by John Locke. On the Kahana, Sayid Jarrah and Desmond Hume learn more about the intentions of the freighter's crew. In two separate off-island storylines, both Jin and Sun are caught up in pregnancy-related troubles.

Before the premiere of the fourth season, the principal cast of Lost called "Ji Yeon" the most shocking of the first seven episodes.[1] The episode was filmed in late October and early November of 2007.[2]

[edit] Plot

The episode presents four storylines, three of which follow Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) and Sun (Yunjin Kim). The other storyline focuses upon Sayid Jarrah (Naveen Andrews) and Desmond Hume (Henry Ian Cusick) on the freighter Kahana.

On the island, Sun becomes increasingly worried about her pregnancy, and Juliet Burke's (Elizabeth Mitchell) admission to her that women who conceive on the island die during their second trimester. Because she fears that rescue will not come quickly enough, she arranges to defect with Jin to the rival faction led by John Locke (Terry O'Quinn). Juliet tries to stop Sun from leaving by telling Jin that Sun had an affair. Their dispute is settled when Sun realises that waiting for rescue will be more advantageous.

On the Kahana, Desmond and Sayid are still waiting to speak to the captain of the freighter, Gault (Grant Bowler). When they are taken to see him, Regina (Zoƫ Bell) jumps off the side of the ship, but Gault dismisses it as "a heightened case of cabin fever", and losing her is better than losing several more in saving her. He takes them into his cabin, and explains the reason that Charles Widmore (Alan Dale) is so intent on finding Ben Linus (Michael Emerson) is because faking a plane crash would require tremendous resources. After their meeting, Desmond and Sayid are relocated to a different part of the ship, where they meet Michael Dawson (Harold Perrineau, Jr.) working as a janitor under the alias "Kevin Johnson".

The episode presents two separate off-island storylines, both involving pregnancy. In flashbacks, Jin's journey to a hospital is marred by several unfortunate incidents, including his cell phone being broken. When he arrives at the hospital, he sends his employer's wishes to a Chinese ambassador. In flashforwards, Sun gives birth to a girl, named Ji Yeon. She is later visited by Hugo "Hurley" Reyes (Jorge Garcia), who takes her to Jin's tombstone to pay their respects

In the future Jin is not married to his wife?

Jin is dead, Sun was in a flashforward, Jin was in a flashback

Is that his baby?

The baby that Sun had is Jin's baby, the baby that he brought the Panda to is not.

Who are the 6 survivors?

We know 5 for sure: JAck, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sun. Ben and Aaron alos get off the island, but we don't know if they count or not. Personally, I don't count either of them.

Did the reason why the girl on the boat jump off get explained?

nope.

It also seemed that the captain was nice to the boys, why?

My theory is that he wants to gain Sayid and Dasmond's trust, and then stab them in the back, but who knows? the note they got through the door could have been a trick...

What was Hurley doing in the episode?

Well, since he's one of the oceanic 6, he was visiting Sun after she had her baby.

In the future Jin is not married to his wife?

Supposedly he is dead but I think he is still alive. On the tombstone it said Jin died on 9/22/04. That was the day of the crash. I think that Sun was sad because she couldnt see Jin. I think Jin is alive but still on the island.

Is that his baby?

YES

Who are the 6 survivors?

JACK, KATE, HURLEY, SAYID, ARRON, SUN

Did the reason why the girl on the boat jump off get explained?

NO

It also seemed that the captain was nice to the boys, why?

I'M NOT SURE

What was Hurley doing in the episode?

HURLEY IS ONE OF THE OCEANIC SIX

sun was having a flashforward while at the same time jin was haveing a flash back. yes it is jin's baby but they indicated that jin was dead sun went to his grave site with hurley (why hurley we don't know) hurley is one of the oceanic 6, but when we last saw hurley he was put back into a mental institution. according to the captian the girl jumped off the boat because she had cabin fever, he said some of or most of his crew got cabin fever from being stationed on this boat for so long near the island he figures the island may be part of the reason everyone is getting cabin fever. ( my theroy maybe it's micheal causing the cabin fever, spikeing their drinks perhaps?). a letter was tossed at them telling them not to trust the captian, I'm thinking the captain can be trusted as much as ben can be trusted...NOT!

Jin is dead - he was shown in the past with the Panda. If you notice, he says he has only been married two months. He took the panda to someone for his boss.

Yes, Sun has his baby but he is dead.(Jin)

The sixth survivor is not yet known. Here are five:

Hurley

Kate

Jack

Sayid

Sun

It never said why the girl jumped off the boat.

the captain was not really nice. He was kind of cold and trying to let them know he is in charge.

You should watch the recap before the new episode next week. It always has the pop ups that give a little extra info in case you miss something. It was one you have to watch closely.

In the future, Jin is dead. It was a flashback for when Jin worked for Sun's dad breaking kneecaps and such. Sun's was a flash-forward.

Yes, it is his baby. He knocked Sun up on the island. Apparently the island made his boys able to swim.

Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Aaron, and Sun.

Not really. They're in such close proximity to the island that it's making them do crazy stuff.

He's out to get Ben. That's reason enough for me to like him.

He was there for Sun to take the baby to Jin's grave since in Sun's flash-forward, she was calling out Jin's name but he's dead.

Jin was in a flashBACK while Sun was in a flashFORWARD.

The Oceanic Six are Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, Hurley and ???.

jin was in a flashBACK and sun was in a flashFORWARD, jin never gets off the island, all that happened before they got there, but when sun had her baby that was after... they just put the two together to confuse us as well as fill in flashback/flashforward time for the episode...

oh, and jin is not necessarily dead, he was left on the island, so he's still considered "dead" from the real world...

The date on Jin's tombstone was the date of the crash 9/22/04 meanning they are covering up his "death" and he's probably still on the island.

I know! Sayid and maybe Frank are dead too, and kate's dying! i think if Sawyer didn't touch the bomb then everyone but Frank would have been okay if the submarine went down. Jin is dead because they showed his hands leaving Sun's only when they went limp and Sawyer was technically responsible for what happened to them.

I think that Sun had a flashforward and Jin had a flashback.
