X Files mini series??

I want to watch the X Files mini series on January 24, but I haven't seen any of the original series. I don't have time to watch all 9 seasons before the mini series comes out, but I want to get the general idea. What episodes should I watch before watching the mini series?

Why don't you hold off on watching the mini-series until you finish the original series. You'll be lost anyway if you just start with the mini series. Why do you even want to see the mini-series anyway if you're not even a fan to know what its about? Thats not the proper way to watch a show.

It's a running plot line throughout the whole series, you will be lost if you just watch an episode here, an episode there.

Then work back, first the Movie(I want to believe), then Season 9, Season 8, 7, 6, Fight the Future(movie), and so on.
