Battlestar Galactica: Razor, should I watch the first season before watching Razor?

I've been watching Battlestar since the beginning of the second season but I haven't seen any of the mini series or the first season. I TiVo'd Razor and haven't watched it yet. I have the first season on DVD but haven't had time to get to it. So should I watch the mini series and the first season before Razor or will Razor make sense since I already know who Admiral Cain and the crew of the Pegasus are?

I know all the info is kind of random and jumbled but I just wanted to give as much info as I could.

Your help is much appreciated! Thanks.

Being a BSG junkie, I can say that you don't have to watch Season 1 to understand what is going on in Razor.

Half of Razor are flashbacks to what happened before Season 2.5. The rest of it happens just after Lee Adama is appointed as the Commander of the Pegasus.

Also, the DVD version will be extended with certain scenes that were deleted from the actual movie.

The miniseries is by FAR almost mandatory to understand a lot of the backstory. However, the miniseries doesn't address Admiral Cain, and I'm not even sure if Pegasus is mentioned. If it is, it was only in passing.

Honestly, I couldn't get into Razor. I am a fan of the show from day one, but this wasn't that good. It was more of an appetizer for S4.

I talked three different people into checking out the mini-series. All three became diehard, rabid fans of BSG afterwards. I highly suggest it.

I think yes so that you could easily follow the other upcoming episode...
