Question:
What's on American TV during the summer?

The traditional TV season in the USA is September to spring. So whats on from June to August (the summer). I always thought summer was "midseason", when the crappy midseason replacements were aired. But apparently "midseason" refers to the latter half of the traditional season (Jan-May). How confusing! So what do they show during the summer? reruns? Forgive my ignorance but the schedule here in Australia is totally different: shows run from roughly February to December with a break over late December-january.

For the big networks (ABC, CBS etc), it's mostly reality shows and shows they didn't have much confidence in so they decided to burn them off over the summer. However, summer is when many cable channels start their new seasons, since there's less competition. Both USA and TNT have some good stuff that's just started new seasons, like Burn Notice, White Collar, Leverage, Covert Affairs and more.
