Why was Sasha Alexander killed off of the NCIS show?

I know it's old news that at the end of the NCIS episode "Twilight" the charactor Caitlin "Kate" Todd, played by Sasha Alexander, was killed (2005).

Does anyone know if she wanted to leave the show and had to be written out? Pregnant? Sick?

She asked to be written out. She wanted to leave. I'm not sure why but it was her not the producers.

she told interviewers that the ncis schedule was too draining but she has gone on to have a 3 yr old girl.

because she cant act...didnt you see her in Dawson's Creek...she played Pacey's sister...and she did it poorly...
